Friends of the Library
The Friends are a group of library users who appreciate libraries and what they
bring to communities for adults, teens, and children. We contribute our time and
money to support the Library and its programs.
How do we help?
|
| |
Traditionally, the Friends: |
| |
- Raise funds to provide extra items not in the library budget and support special events
- Collect, sort, and sell books and media at the Library’s semi-annual book sales
- Plan cultural, educational, craft, and entertainment events
- Enrich the Children’s Summer Reading Program with shows and materials
- Provide refreshments at library events
|
| |
Major past contributions include funding: |
| |
- The building of the Marx Local History Room
- The restoration of the Paxinosa Inn painting
- The conservation of the oil portrait of Easton resident and Declaration of Independence signer George Taylor
- The conservation and framing of the Penn Patent donated by the Knights Templar
|
| |
What more would we like to do?
We’re looking to add projects such as:
|
| |
- Increasing book donations for sales
